A CLASS ONE EVENT - Organised by Howick Pakuranga Chess Club

New Zealand Junior Chess Championship 8th - 11th July 2019

Eligibility :

Players must be under the age of 20 on 1st January 2019 (born after the year 1998).
Non NZL players must have FIDE ID issued by their chess federation.

Format :

7 Round Swiss Tournament, NZFC and FIDE rated where possible.

Time Control :

90 Minutes each player plus 30 seconds increment per move from move one.

Prize Fund :

Minimum of $2000
1st Prize : $500
2nd Prize : $400

$50 NZ School Pupils Champion, NZ Under 16, U14, U12, U10, U8 Champions.
$50 NZ Schoolgirls Champion, NZ Girls U16, U14, U10, U8 Champions.
a. Age Groups are allocated in bands, e.g U14 is under 14 and above 12. b. Players can win more than one title, but only one cash prize. c. Cash prizes are subject to a minimum of 3 entrants in each group.
Players from a lower group with less than 3 entrants will be merged with players from higher group. The lower group's cash prize is forfeited but age group title will still be awarded to an eligible player.
In the event of a tie, the title and/or prize money will be shared.

New Zealand Junior Rapid Chess Championship 12th July 2019

Eligibility :

Players must be under the age of 20 on 1st January 2019 (born after the year 1998).
Non NZL players must have FIDE ID issued by their chess federation.

Format :

5 Round Swiss Tournament, NZFC and FIDE rated where possible.

Time Control :

25 Minutes each player plus 5 seconds increment per move from move one.

Round 4	Friday 12th July 1:30pm

Non NZL players must have FIDE ID issued by their chess federation.

6 Round Swiss Tournament, NZFC and FIDE rated where possible.

Time Control :

90 Minutes each player plus 30 seconds increment per move from move one.
